This past weekend I traveled down to the Del Mar race track for a fashion photo shoot for the Charlie M. Collection. We got access to the paddock area where the horses are pranced around for onlookers. We had our own onlookers during the shoot and we even had a few of the jockeys come out and model with the Charlie M. girls. We had a blast! Check out the video of photo shoot below.

Damian, I love your work (read about you on DJ's blog!).
I LOVED watching the fashion video/photography. Ever since I got my first high-end fashion magazine when I was younger, I was entranced with the fashion sections... And I realized later in life that it's because of the IMAGES... not necessarily the fashion part of it.
It took me years to realize that I only liked America's Next Top model for the photography part (the shoot, and seeing the end product), ha:) I have Anthropologie catalog photos around my office...I love that women can look and feel so beautiful, and I think they should because there are so many messages in our society about what beauty is. Anyway, I could go on and on...(as if I haven't already!)
but basically, beauty and photography are my passions...
What would I have to do to do fashion photography? What kind of equipment? Did you take certain classes? ANY info you could give me would rock.

My lighting set up is very simple. I use one 1600 Alien Bee strobe with an umbrella and a battery pack for location shoots. I use 2 strobes for studio work. The rest is photoshop. Next year I will be offering workshops in fashion photography. Sign up for my newsletter to keep yourself up to date with my photo shoots and workshops. I put a sign up form for my newsletter on my blog.

You think I'm joking but I'm not. :) I am actually engaged and I want a fashion engagement session. My fiance says that he's not into soft, pretty light and wants something "contrasty and cool". That's what you get when an art director and a photographer decide to married...lots of opinions.
